The Magasé Art Gallery space, located at 12 Cardenal Spínola street in Seville, has been hosting an exhibition by the painter Patricio Hidalgo under the title of "Pastora" since February 12. dedicated to the legendary Sevillian cantaora, Pastora Pavón Cruz, La Niña de los Peines.
"Pastora" is a clear example of Hidalgo's impetus to renew the visual imaginary of flamenco. Thus, through some thirty works with different supports ranging from drawing, painting, video creation and even artistic intervention, he arrives at the figure of the Niña de los Peines.
As Miguel Ángel Rivero, professor at the University of Seville, recounted, this project was born from the collaboration of Patricio Hidalgo in the documentary "Woman, gypsy and queen of cante", directed by Pedro Callejas de Tesela Comunicación and the participation of Canal Sur TV, a documentary in which Patricio contributed seven video creations inspired by seven cantes by Pastora.
