El Ayuntamiento de Jerez de la Frontera y las Bodegas Williams & Humbert han publicado la convocatoria del Vº Premio Internacional de Investigación del Flamenco "Ciudad de Jerez”. La presente edición está dedicada a la persona de José Manuel Gamboa, gran investigador de reconocida solvencia en el mundo del flamenco.
Las solicitudes para optar al galardón estarán abierta hasta el 1 de octubre de 2021 y podrán presentarse trabajos de investigación que con rigor y método científicos versen sobre el tema "Flamenco de Jerez” en cualquiera de sus variantes: cante, baile o toque, y para cualquier época.

Poco a poco vamos desgranando los estrenos que nos traerá la XXVº edición del Festival de Jerez. Hoy nos paramos en "Alma”, un espectáculo que llegará el 8 de mayo al Teatro Villarmarta a partir de las 20:30 horas de la mano de la Compañía Joaquín Grilo.
El jerezano Joaquín Grilo contará para este día con un gran elenco en el que podemos ver nombres como el de Francis Gómez a la guitarra, Manuel Tañe y Londro al Cante; a las palmas Carlos Grilo, Diego Montoya y Manuel Cantarote; y como artistas invitados Diego del Morao a la guitarra y Luiz El Zambo al cante.
Así, con este cartel, el Villarmarta acoge el estreno de "Alma”, una obra cuya idea original parte de Joaquín Grilo y Nuria Figueroa y con la que quieren hacer llegar, sentir y transmitir, el lenguaje oculto del alma a través del baile.

As we advanced in the article of the presentation of the Festival de Jerez 2021, this edition is somewhat special. On the one hand, because this annual Jerez flamenco event celebrates its Silver Jubilee, and on the other hand, because the pandemic has not been able to with the Festival. The city of Jerez continues to bet on art, culture, flamenco, and more in this context where the sector is being so beaten.
Dancing will undoubtedly continue to be the epicenter of the Festival event, with a program made up of 24 dance shows, of which 10 will be world premieres.
The first of these premieres will arrive on the opening day of the XXV Festival de Jerez. On May 6 at 8:30 p.m. Eva Yerbabuena will open the curtain at the Villamarta Theater to present "Just like you."
It is a show created for three dancers, seven musicians and an actress. In the words of Alfonso Zurro, "Same as you" is contextualized in that space that surrounds us and a phrase that projects us: my house was here.

The Society of Interpreters or Executives (AIE), the entity that manages the intellectual property rights of artists, interpreters or performers, has presented the artistic cast that will be part of AIEnRUTa - Flamencos 2021.
Program developed by the AIE in collaboration with the Complutense University of Madrid, the University of Alcalá de Henares and the University of Valladolid, and whose main objective is to make known and promote young artists of the flamenco genre within the University.
To do this, every year it organizes a program in new concert or recital spaces held in cities such as Madrid, Alcalá de Henares, Valladolid, Segovia and Palencia.
In this 2021, the protagonists of AIEnRUTa - Flamencos 2021 will be Ángeles Toledano, JuanFran Carrasco, Andrés Barrio and José del Tomate.

The artist Eduardo Guerrero (Cádiz, 37 years old) is very grateful to his grandmother because at the age of six he bought her his first dancing shoes. That is why he wanted to pay them a tribute that he will premiere this Friday, March 12th, and which will be repeated on April 30th, at the Gran Teatro Bankia Príncipe Pío in Madrid. It is a show named after his warlike surname, with which he shows a sentimental struggle away from violence through dance and flamenco.
The man from Cádiz has been working on preparing Guerrero for more than a year, whose name is also a nod to all those women he wanted to honor. "They always called me by my last name. Luckily it has a lot of meaning", says the bailaor. From that concept came the phrase "The best victory is to win without fighting", with which he defines this new proposal. "Force is not fighting, it is cowardice. You have to face problems and when something is black, turn it into white. It is a fight of feelings."
